People on boardCRAMSHAW ? A.W. Mr Cramshaw has not been identified and the problem may lie with the spelling of his name. He was included in the official list of Survivors issued by the Censor on the 11th of October. He was named in some newspapers as being from the “Army Contracts Department, War Office”. It would appear that he was accompanying the Hon. Arthur Jex Davey, Deputy Director of Army Contractors, on a visit to Dublin to Irish clothing manufacturers. In newspaper reports of the death of Arthur Davey his widow was reported to have said that she had been told that he was on deck “with his clerk” when the first torpedo struck the ship. Any information would be welcome.
